While I was perusing blogs, I found one of Joseph's cousin's blog and she had listed out her favorite things. I thought that this was kinda cool. I also had been thinking how I want to start being more aware of the many blessings that I have. I know that I take my blessings for granted and I need to be more grateful. So I decided to combine both ideas of gratitude and favorite things into one and this is my first edition of "Weekly Favorite Things". My goal with this is to have more of a "gratitude attitude", but also to share with our friends things going on in our life and maybe be able to pass on an idea or two that I run into. I am not going to predetermine a set number of things. Some weeks I may only have one or two and others I may have ten. I hope to always have at least three favorite things every week since I think that is a pretty meager amount to be grateful for.
Favorite # 1 - My Bed
I know that this probably sounds stupid and maybe a little bit lazy but I absolutely love my bed. Not only is it comfortable, but it is where I feel the most "safe" (again, probably sounding a little corny). Not only do I love to sleep in my bed, but I love to read in my bed, I love to watch tv in my bed, and I love to just lay in bed and think. One of my most treasured times of day is right before I fall asleep and I just think about life and what I want from it.
Favorite # 2 - Homemade Chicken Garlic Pizza
On Christmas Eve, we went to Joseph's brother's house for homemade pizza. More specifically, Chicken Garlic Homemade Pizza. It was absolutely delicious. I wish that I could eat it every day for every meal. So, Joseph's birthday was last Sunday and his family came over for dinner. I decided to do Homemade Chicken Garlic Pizza. Thankfully, I had enough ingredients to make it again for Joseph and I on Tuesday night. Hmmmm, just writing about it makes me want to run to the store and pick up some ingredients to make more tonight! If anybody is interested in the recipe, let me know.
Favorite # 3 - Raspberry Smoothies
For Joseph's birthday dinner, I decided to try out a recipe I had found for raspberry smoothies. Not only was it fast and simple to make, but it was incredibly delicious. Now I think we have made raspberry smoothies almost every day since Sunday......speaking of raspberry smoothies, I think I will make some when I finish blogging!!
Favorite # 4 - Blogger
I have just really discovered the fascinating world of blogging this week and I am absolutely in love with it. I have found some old friends that have moved away and I have also found friends from high school. I love checking everybody's blog to get updated on their life. I find myself getting a little addicted so I will definitely have to exercise some self control and discipline!
Favorite # 5 - Vinyl Lettering
I love to use vinyl lettering for crafting (someday I want my own machine to make the lettering myself.....I just have to find some money tree seeds for the backyard!) but I discovered a new use for it this week....ADVERTISING! I now advertise myself as a Realtor on the back window of my car using vinyl lettering. I am sure others have known about this for awhile but I just finally got it done this week and think it is the coolest thing ever. Although, now I have to be really careful about my driving.....no more road raging......since my name and phone number are plastered on my back window.
Favorite # 6 - Bedtime
Although I do look forward to my bedtime every night, I have been grateful this week for when I have gotten the girls to bed. Paige and I have had a slightly rough week in trying to get her to understand that having attitude with mom is just not going to fly. So I have looked forward to the peace and quiet that comes after getting the kids in bed.
I think that about covers it for the week. I just thought up this idea today and so I don't remember all the little day to day things that have happened over the week that I am grateful for. I know that there are a ton of them, I just need to pay more attention. Hopefully next week I will be more on the lookout to remember all the many blessings that come my way!

Ashley I want your pizza recipe AND your smoothie recipe! We still eat OneDish on a regular basis at our house thanks to your wonderful recipe! My sister, HolleeAnn is also a HUGE fan (though I totally take credit for sharing the recipe with my family)
Anyway, Please post those recipes!!! Actually, you should just do a weekly recipe post...everything you make is good!
