Yesterday was a really good day. I got up and going, made myself an hour by hour to-do list, and for the most part stuff to it and got 80% of the things on the list done. I know that it probably seems really obsessive compulsive to have an hour by hour to-do list, but it is how I function best.
I have also learned in my life that accomplishment fuels accomplishment. I felt great at the end of the day because I had gotten a lot accomplished. Joseph had been at school all morning and then headed up with some friends to snowboard for the rest of the day. He wasn't going to be back until late so I was looking forward to a quiet evening of watching some television while folding clothes.
I was making Paige some macaroni and cheese when my phone rang. It was about 6:30 and the caller ID said that it was from a pay phone. Well, wouldn't you know, it was my husband calling from Bogus Basin. After assuring me that everyone was fine, he explained their dilemma. His buddy had lost his keys to his car and so they were wondering if I would go get the spare keys and drive them up to Bogus. If I wasn't able to do this, then they would drive Joseph's truck down, get spare keys, and then drive back up.
Now, I have NEVER driven to Bogus, let alone drove a snowy mountain road in the DARK. However, I decided that I would try it. I called my brother and begged him to go with me. He agreed and so I set out on my adventure. I was PETRIFIED, so much so that I almost puked. However, I made it up there in one piece without sliding.
Coming down was a lot easier and a lot less scary. I know that sounds really backwards but I made it down the mountain in like a half hour where it took me 45 minutes to go up.
So, now Joseph OWES me BIG! However, I am glad that I conquered my fear!

Do I see a mom's day out at the spa coming up here pretty soon? If I were there, I would head up the day and steal you away so we could spend the day getting to know each other better and relaxing in sweet childless bliss!
Please tell me that Sam Banks was not involved in this. When he and Sven went snowboarding in Colorado a similar situation occured.
I'm glad you made it up and back safely. I hate the going down part personally, but you're very brave and you saved the day. Go Ash!
So next time you are in Idaho, specifically the Boise area, I am taking you up on that Rachel!! I may even have to fly you out here! A day at the spa sounds heavenly!!
Steve was at a camp one time and called me (sometime after I'd already put Kellen to bed) and said that he was sick, could I come get him? I took down directions because I'd never driven there myself, and headed out. It took about 2 hours to get to the camp to pick him up, and then we turned around and came back home. That was a late night! Fortunately, Kellen was only a year or so old at the time so he snoozed in the back the whole time :)
