Joseph and I went to the doctor today for our first baby appointment. We were able to see the baby on the ultrasound for the first time and also heard the heartbeat. I have loved this baby from the moment that I found out that I was pregnant but the moment I saw the baby on the computer screen, I.Fell.In.LOVE!!!!

I think that it also seems a lot more real for Joseph. He was grinning from ear to ear through the whole ultrasound.......such a proud daddy! We were both fascinated (you would think that this was our first kid or something, not our THIRD) by everything that had already developed and what we could see on the ultrasound at just 12 weeks. We were able to see the baby's hands and fingers and it's stomach and bladder. The baby even had it's legs crossed which was so cute to see. Sorry, I am not scanning and posting pictures. I really haven't felt good these last few days and so I use the laptop and am not near the scanner.

Anyway, since I am a repeat offender for preterm labor, I will be getting a weekly progesterone shot. I was really nervous about this until I visited with my doctor. He is the best and due to my reproductive issues, I have seen him since I was 15. I felt a lot better about the shots after talking to him. I am still not excited to get a shot in my rear end every week for 17 to 19 weeks, but I will do what I need to for this little guy or gal. We are hoping at the very least that it will keep me out of my month long vacation at the hospital. However, the doctor said that he does still have some patients who end up in the hospital on magnesium sulfate even with the progesterone shot. We are going to keep our fingers crossed.

He also moved my due date up to July 24th. However, my due date never matters much to me since I delivered both of my kids at 36 weeks.

Joseph starts school on Tuesday.....not looking forward to that. I have loved having him home the last several weeks and he has been an amazing help and support to me since I have felt like crap and spent a lot of time in bed. The girls and I go through major withdrawals every time he has been home on a break and then goes back to school. He is taking 18 credits so he will be busy. Glad that the baby isn't scheduled to come until after the semester is over.

Announcement

Breathtaking

I have been working a ton lately. Some days, I go to work at 8:30 in the morning and don't get home until 11:30 at night. I love my job but I wish that I wasn't away from my family so much. Working this much creates a lot of stress.

On top of that, Joseph and I got thrown a big curve ball last week. There is always curve balls in life and some you can see coming a little in advance. The one we got last week, I NEVER would have seen coming in a million years.

Between work and our "curve ball", it created the perfect situation for Joseph and I to need a break. So we went camping with family to Horsethief Reservoir. On the day that we were to leave, we took a hike and was able to see some amazing scenery.

It really made me stop and realize that no matter what happens, God is good and He is over all. If we put our trust in Him, we can take on anything and it will be for our good.......eventually.

I am so thankful for my faith in God and for the peace I received this weekend. I am also so thankful for this beautiful, amazing world we have to live in and for the privilege of enjoying it......

Camping at Horsethief Reservoir

For the holiday weekend, Joseph's cousin, Jared, and his two boys came to town to visit. We, along with Joseph's brother and his family decided to head up to Horsethief Reservoir and do some camping. In total - there were 6 adults and 7 kids age 5 and under.

It was a lot of fun but the nights were very cold!! Thankfully, we brought lots of blankets to help keep us warm. The kids all had a blast but by the end of the trip they were exhausted and in desperate need of a bath!

The funniest thing while we were camping was Little Miss Loo. She loves to run around with the older kids and be just like them. Her cousin, Jacob, just became potty trained and loved peeing in the trees. Lexi was absolutely fascinated by this and thought that if the boys can do it, so can she!

Don't anybody tell her that because she's a girl, she can't do it!

These Are The Days.......

(My title for this post is not referring to the soap opera music. Think opening song from the movie, Cheaper By The Dozen.)

I have not been very consistent with my blogging. I started thinking about blogging yesterday and how I don't blog very often because there isn't a lot of exciting stuff happening in our life. Most days it just feels like the "same old stuff, just a different day".

I also don't take the camera with me very often because I don't think there is anything exciting that is going to be going on. However, after we got back from a Marine Corps function at a park yesterday, I wished that I had taken the camera with me. Not because anything exciting happened, but because this is our life and I want it chronicled.

It really has changed my perspective on blogging and keeping a record of what we do. The truth of the matter is that my kids are growing and learning every day and THAT is exciting and worth blogging about. I want my kids to be able to have something to look back at and see what they did as kids, the funny things they said, and just what our day to day life was like while they were growing up.

So the next several pictures aren't exciting - in fact I look horrid in them! However, this is our life and these are the days......
